It all starts from an idea. Ours?

To make an NFT project that’s exciting. Not just a boring project with JPEGs that have no utility. We want to do more. We know we can do more.

Hence spawned the idea to make a game. But not just any game. A classic game that can be enjoyed by thousands of players, simultaneously, and entirely on-chain. Using the Solana blockchain to take advantage of fast processing times and low fees.

And, to go down in Solana’s history as the first truly on-chain multiplayer space war game.

To achieve this, we need to nail two key components: technical, and growth.

But a goal without a plan is just a dream.

Here’s our plan.

Part 1 Foundation

This stage lays the framework on which the project is built. It is the part of our journey where we are researching, planning and assembling the parts that will be needed to build our rocket.

Technical

We begin the whitepaper, taking into account technical and legal limitations. The whitepaper should transparently walk the reader through our thought-process in building the game, and the resulting decisions. Transparency is unnegotiable. We want our community to know every decision we made, and why we made it.

Growth

We will hire community moderators, designers (both for graphics and the website), animators, and assistants (such as researchers). The most integral components, being technical and growth, will be exclusively handled by the core team. Since this is what we know best.

At this stage, we will also prepare our Discord and Twitter accounts. Our focus at all times will be exclusively on growing these two channels, since these are the two most important channels that support communication between users. And to build a strong community, communication is key. Of course we could make Instagram, TikTok or YouTube accounts – but to us, if people are simply reacting rather than participating, it isn’t a real community. We want a strong, independent community built on active discussions - not just reactions to what we do.

Part 2 Development

This is the part where we burn the midnight oil, and do the things that people will never see. The fruits of this labor are not shown until later stages in the roadmap, yet, it is the most important part. It is where the engineers are working meticulously, putting all of the pieces of the rocket together.

Technical

At this point, the whitepaper is ready and released. We have begun working on the mint code, generative art, and, most importantly, the game smart contract development. Generative art and minting code has been done by many, so we are not concerned.

But what sets us apart is the game. This is something where we are wandering into uncharted territory, to create something on the Solana blockchain that has never been done before! So of course, we expect some roadblocks. This will be inevitable. And may even require changes to the gameplay. But at the end of this treacherous journey, we will have created something unique. Something that will excite the entire Solana community. Something that will make our community the envy of other projects!

Growth

We will begin advertising on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other advertising platforms. With decades of combined experience and tens of millions of dollars spent on paid advertising platforms previously, we know how to scale campaigns effectively. As with any paid campaign, there is a testing phase to see what works – including creatives, demographics, geographic locations, interests, etc. This is the phase where we comfortably lose money to collect data. Our experience allows us to stomach losses during this testing phase that would make other projects shudder. But we know, it’s all in the name of data. The payoffs at the end of the road are massive.

We will also incorporate organic growth strategies, leveraging our existing community. This includes adding community members to the presale whitelist if they get others to join, if they share/talk about us (on social networks or even private WhatsApp/Telegram groups), and/or if they are actively engaging with the rest of the community. Ultimately the project’s own community should be its biggest cheerleader. We want our community to “multiply” the impact of everything we do.

Lastly, we will begin outreach to proven influencers. These are influencers who we have previously talked about projects and generated massive interest. We have ways of finding them. If we want to maximize our results in a limited time, we should focus on the few influencers that generate the most bang. Not those small-time promoters/marketers who constantly bombard Discord groups looking for business. If the 80/20 rule holds true, 20% of the influencers will generate 80% of the interest in this user acquisition channel. We need to focus on those who can deliver. Here, we will narrow down which influencers we want to work with, and begin preliminary discussions to get them interested.

Part 3 Scaling

The fun begins. With the grunt work done, it’s time to put our growth into high-gear at this stage. Now is where we’re adding fuel to the rocket.

Technical

By now, the code for minting and generative art is complete. The game smart contract should also be complete, and the graphical user interface (“GUI”) development starts. However, the technical obstacles in building the game are behind us, since improving the design from here is just details. In fact, with a totally on-chain game, anyone can read data directly from the blockchain and build their own frontend for the game!

The website would also be ready at this stage. Most NFT designs would be ready as well, although more may need to be added depending on the final count of NFTs we will have.

Growth

With a functional version of the game in hand, we can approach Solana.com to be directly featured on their website as the first, totally on-chain multiplayer space war game. Being listed on Solana.com would bring the project a massive boost of credibility. And why wouldn’t they feature us? For the first time, it proves that functional, fun games on Solana are actually possible!

With our prior ad campaign optimizations complete, we will know what works. We can now focus on scaling our successful ad campaigns, which is just a matter of throwing money at it. This is where the jaw-dropping exponential growth begins.

Simultaneously, we will be adding competitions based on invites and engagements. This will multiply growth from within our own growing community. If every person we add through paid acquisition channels then adds just 3 more organically, the multiplier effect would be massive. We will also introduce prizes to encourage aggressive promotions on social platforms such as Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

At the same time, we will start collaborations with other similar projects to share like-minded audiences. A rising tide lifts all boats, and by sharing with other projects, we feel we can grow the entire ecosystem. It doesn’t have to be a zero-sum game. If there are other attractive projects, they should be appreciated as well.

Proven influencers we reached out to in the previous stage should now also be talking about our project. These are “crème de la crème” of influencers, who were specifically selected based on their prior successful promotions of other projects.

At this point, we will determine the NFT price and amount. This will be based on our current and forecasted investment to see the project through to launch, as well as market demand.

By now, our goal is to have at least 30K Discord members.

Part 4 Pre-launch

By this point, everything is almost ready for launch. It’s just the final touches and push. The part where we’re firing up the engines for lift-off. Almost everyone is already on-board and counting down the minutes till they’re blasted into space.

Technical

Beta testing of the game is complete. The mint functionality on the website is ready and added. Extensive testing is performed to ensure servers can handle the load at launch. Everything is tested over and over again to ensure nothing is faulty. Then tested once more.

Growth

By now, we hope the community will cross 50K Discord members. We will do whatever it takes to have been listed on Solana’s official website.

Those who got into the presales early are hopefully breathing a sigh of relief. Knowing that at least their seat is secure. They will have ample time to mint their NFTs before the flood gates open to the public. After all, each and every one of them should be rewarded for being an early contributor to the project’s growth. Without them, we wouldn’t be here.

Meanwhile, we will aggressively ramp up spending on proven ad campaigns. Whatever is left of our ad budgets must be spent. In its entirety. Anything we didn’t spend could have been used to grow our community. To get that one extra community member. We don’t want that regret. We want to put everything into this. And, if we can add more juice to the campaigns, we certainly will. We have a well-oiled machine by now, so every penny we put into our advertising campaigns will give us more yield than ever before. Even our organic multiplier should be massive, especially given the credibility of having tens of thousands of existing community members. But still, to increase the multiplier effect of every new join, we will add even more competitions.

Part 5 Launch

The mint is live. The rarity chart is revealed.

People are claiming their NFTs and sharing what they got in the Discord group.

Others are already connecting their NFT avatars to start playing the game. It will be immediately playable as soon as you have them. No empty future promises. No games promised by other projects into a future that never comes. Everything will be ready and playable at the time of mint.

Yet others may be skinning their own versions of the game. Since the game is totally on-chain, anyone can incorporate that data and build their own frontend for the game.

And with that, we will have built the first truly on-chain NFT community-based multiplayer space war game. Something that will go down in Solana’s history.
